Unity in Diversity
We here in Chennai are shattered by this incident and are speechless and thinking how the people who experienced such gruesome incidents would have felt. I hardly slept for the past one week, infact we all forgot the fact that our city was flooded whole last week. Many were relocated homeless, powerless, food less, drinking water less. Same would have happened even if there were no floods in Chennai because we were terrified by the news! Fortunate people in good areas were less affected by rains and floods and had a chance to follow up news channels and track the incident day and night. We people here want to tell to the world that our heart beats skipped seeing Mumbaikars suffer!
In fact I personally never thought Mumbai as North India and we as South Indians. We are Indians, brothers and Sisters... I cried, felt scared, hurt, irritated and humiliated by these attacks on innocent people. My heart skipped beating and brain got drained seeing top cops and commandos sacrificing and mainly how politicians used this incident and started blame games. How senseless can they be more than this? In fact great replies were given by Father of Major Unni Krishnan and Wife of Late Shri. Hemant Karkare. They showed to our public what politicians deserved! Well Done! We are proud of you people, infact such good people do exist on this lovely Earth.
Ok lets come to the main issue. I know many youth, elders, women and children are angry with politicians and salute for bravery of soldiers, commandos and police. Thats sensible and correct but lets try to make a civilized revolution to find an answer for our own security concerns and anti-corruption governance. Right now the two prime factors challenging us are Corruption and Terrorism. We must sensibly start revolution, curb corruption first in our constituency and then in India together. Next comes the security concerns. Once corruption is rooted out, terrorism will reduce and in fact we can destory the word terrorism from the dictionary. Lets not get carried away by emotions, lets start our first step during elections, decide the deserving candidate, make him stand in elections and vote for him. Then lets start putting our concensus into action.
Let us take oath not to separate our country on the basis on Caste, creed, religion or any other factor. Remember our famous theme "Unity in Diversity". Lets reform our nation and stand tall on this test of time and show this world that no force can divide our unity and we are always brothers and sisters to our neighbours and to the world! Long live love and peace! Jai Hind!

Value of Money
People who go for work in USA for 2 years or more can save up to 10 Lakhs or even more and come back and invest the same in order to buy a huge bungalow *. But how many of us can really afford to travel that far leaving our family and dear ones alone? Or how many of us do really get such an opportunity? So our hard earned money is getting exploited once we return to India. How? We do not know what to do with such a huge money, people either buy a car worth 10 Lakhs by cash or buy a house by cash. They will never need to go for loans. So, do they really need home? Not really, because they do not know where to invest this money, people seem to have lost faith in Insurance companies and Real estate is the best bet now for multiple returns.
So what is the reason for investing in Land or some kind of property? People are GREEDY. I know its hard to take because we all are greed anyways. There is some limit for everything, once it goes above our neck we fall prey to money! We all speak nicely but do absolutely opposite to it. As long as our GREEDINESS doesn't end, the cost of living won't reduce because since you're ready to spend others are ready to take in lump just like you were greedy to buy. This multifolds and has landed to the current state where even basic food items cost not less than 50 rupees. the basic necessity of human being "Food, Water and Shelter" costs dearly now. Foods in hotel cost more than 50 rupees on an average. Water costs more than 20 rupees per can on an average. Shelter costs more than 20 Lakhs on an average.
It's time that people re-think and do not spend their money greedily. They have to spend on the most valuable things like Agriculture, Family trips etc. Unless the greedy buying stops, the value for money won't be good and even money won't value us one day. This is exactly reflected in Lehman Brothers bankruptcy. All greedy investors lost everything. Let's take this as an example and try to educate ourselves and not fall prey to greediness. Remember just as there is some value for your life and there are some limitations on what you can do, the same applies to money also. Don't let the money talk, if you do you are killing millions of poor below poverty line and also your own life in the long run.
* rule applies 2 to 3 years back

Google Chrome swallows Mozilla Firefox
Update: I think I am in LOVE with Firefox3. I just uninstalled Google Chrome and got back FF3 in my office computer. Well, at home, due to resource constraints I am still using Lighter Google Chrome. Also, G Chrome crashed in my home PC. Do not know the reason yet, its not opening at all! I uninstalled the same from my home PC too. So please consider these before you install chrome. You can very well do away with IE7 or FF3. They are invincible at the moment!

Love- the golden word
This society does not understand what Love is and do not practise such things. These things cannot be thought, they must be experienced and realised. Many people in the name of Love spoil its image and tarnish the name and reality of Love. Illegal activities are being done in the name of Love and are demonstrated wrongly as Love. All I can say is that they have only misunderstood the meaning of Lust. Lust can exist with/without Love. You can have a sexual desire with the person whom you love, that true and emphasizes "One family, One Tree" concept. But Lust without Love is what dominates this world. Many people split after a nice affair and say that they have had problems with each other. For those who do such things, I can only tell that you have never experienced Love but Lust.
So what really is this Love? Why do people always see this as a bad activity? Its the kind of image that is given by this society. People have to clearly separate Love from all kinds of activities. Lust, Sex, etc are a part of Love but vice versa is not true. Oh my fellow men, come raise and lets make this world clear what real love is.
For those who have a wrong conception about love please drop it. Please understand that a love shown towards a lover is same that we show towards our mother/father. They are unexplicable but only felt. Long live the Lovers!

N-Deal and the Power cuts Game
It was a right time for the government to strike such news so as to convince the entire voting citizens. Then they played another game in the form of power cuts that I mentioned at the start of this article. In Chennai especially, they cut the power for 1 hour on account of trading off the shortage of power supply to the city. In Bangalore, it was terrible I heard, having cut the power for more than 4 hours each day in two shifts: 2 hours in afternoon and 2 hours at mid-night! Terrible really!
Again as you can all see the common man is the sufferer. Why? Are we voiceless? No, we are powerless! Even during elections we can do little to reduce our grievances, because other parties cut our throat in some other forms. I am only forced to quote something that "Even God cannot save this country". It's true and I don't see any God transitioning from the peaceful heavens and land their legs on to this dirty dungeon.

Has truth triumphed finally?
Nuke Deal is a safe and global friendly (against global warming) deal, claims many Scientists and those close to Congress. Nice move by Congress in spite of heavy protests but clearly the LEFT and the BJP are making a mockery over the situation by claiming slogans against PM and Govt. Its for all of us to see clearly that BJP had only one intention and to pull this govt down on baseless corruption charges.
Whatever Congress does it does for the future India. Things like Inflation, Oil prices etc are never ending unless there is a global solution for this. It comes and goes in cycle, explained one of my friends who is currently doing his MS at some US university. All countries should come together to combat, which I believe they are trying hard to. N-Deal should not be sacrificed for false politics and others benefits. Clearly all can see that BJP wanted to clinch all these major deals in their govt. and somehow wanted to down the present govt. by claiming false allegations.
I was the one who insisted on Hydro power and the likes but I read an article today in the 'The Hindu' newspaper today (Chennai edition). It was on Dr.Manmohan Singh's speech. I have to say that he has shown to the world why he is called and respected as a 'Man of Integrity'. He clearly explains why is it not possible to meet the Power needs with the current facilities. He specifies that most plants run on Coal and Carbon Fuel. Coal can't be used heftily on the grounds of Global warming and Carbon fuel supply is diminishing world wide as all can see. We can't improve the Hydro-plant capacity as many villages/people around the dams will have to be dislocated to elsewhere. These points are true and makes sense.
I also read that many scientists and industrialists are for the N-Deal, as the saying goes in one of the Standard Electricals :"Expert ka kaam expert se he chodna hai!". Including our Former President, Abdul Kalam, all are for N-Deal, I salute Dr. Abdul ji and say the above Standard Electricals line :).
As for the LEFT, please mind that N-Deal was initiated during BJP's regime. They have joined hands with NDA for what? It does not make any sense. Politics at its best exposed in India! As the saying goes: It happens only in INDIA!

Indo-US Nuclear Deal (Vs) Indo-Pak-Iran Gas Pipeline
USA are clearly preventing India from getting into a Pipeline deal with Iran via Pakistan. Why? Because Iran is now called "the enemy" of United States. India have to clearly think and decide what best interests their nation instead of falling prey to riches in this world by being its pet dog (American's definition for Indians).
Our people must raise their voice by evaluating what is important at present, whether the gas pipeline is necessary or N-Deal is necessary for the immediate future and the best interest for our country. Politicians are playing a dirty business game and trying to sell India's national interests to the hands of Foreigners the mistake that India did long back in the hands of British and the likes.
All Pros and Cons of both the N-Deal and Gas Pipeline should be evaluated and the one that satisfies the immediate future needs of the society should be considered. There are many Cons than Pros in the current N-Deal and I don't why politicians want such a deal and how they call such a stupid thing as a 'National Interest'.
Oh Mahatma Govt., We are not interested in your Nuclear facilities, all that we want is a safe place to live, eat and satisfy our elders and younger generations for their peaceful future. Please don't sell India's interest to business and spoil our alternative self-sufficient and capable plans like Iran Gas Pipeline, Hydro Electric Power, Wind Power etc. Please invest in facilities already available and renovate the capable units instead investing a hefty 350000 Crores of rupees on the N-Deal which will make India a play ground for the USA.

Nokia's Initiative to go Green
In their we:recycle website, they have shown their concern for this environment and have mentioned very good initiatives on how to recycle unused Nokia phones for an useful output.
Their website says "When we take something from the environment, we should give something back. Recycling takes materials from old devices, accessories and packaging and gives them a second life in other new products. It means we don’t take more materials from the environment. And it reduces the amount of energy we use. Take a little, give a little and together we can make recycling part of everyday life."
Thats a touching para that Nokia have come up with. I really admire their commitment to a better and green environment :), these kind of initiatives makes me think of shifting to a Nokia rather than Sony Ericsson ..
I also read in ZDNet website that Nokia will collect the old phones at door step at free of cost (only for USA residents). If this interests you, you can read that article here :
Nokia kicks off aggressive recycling program, Nokia Chat, and E71 further usage thoughts.

Uncertainty in this World
Many a times this thought has to my mind and I have also heard many people speaking on this subject. Today morning my servant maid was speaking about buying "murukku" snacks at snacks bar. She was saying who knows with what OIL they would have fried this "murukku" and what effects is it going to bring to health. She was uncertain on the quality of the cooked product. She was uncertain about the shop, about the product and about her health.
It is definitely natural to think like this but does it affect the morality of the other party is the question at stake. In the servant maid incident the shop keeper's morality is at stake. In other incidents other people/thing/place/object is at question reg their morality. So it clearly shows the morality has got some strong connection with uncertainty. So why are we uncertain? Natural? or is it because we can't predict or foresee the future? Talking about prediction, can an Astrologer predict the uncertain outcome? Definitely not! There are two things in this world which are Probability and Prediction. Both are different but closely related like morality and uncertainty.
As long as people fall prey to money and act against conscience, uncertainty will loom - here people who fall prey are immoral persons (like shop keeper) and people who get this thought are people like us(partially moral). Its really surprising why we get uncertain on many occassions.
Whether people who read article understood what I said is uncertain.
Whether people who accept this article are moral or immoral ones is also uncertain.
So tell me who are you?

Little Johnny
It was Friday morning, and that meant it was time for an activity that the teacher called 'add to the picture'. The teacher would call students to the chalkboard one at a time. The first student would draw an object on the chalkboard, and each following student would add something to the picture to make it a new picture.
The teacher called on James to start things off.
James returned to his seat.
The teacher called on Ernie next.
Ernie returned to his seat.
Now it was Suzy's turn.
Suzy returned to her seat.
Next, the teacher called Jerry to the board.
Jerry returned to his seat.
Kim was called to the board.
Kim returned to her seat.
About this time, little Johnny began waving his arm hysterically. Little Johnny was well known for being off center, so the teacher was reluctant to call on him for anything. But as the teacher looked at the picture on the chalkboard, she thought that there was no way that little Johnny could possibly do anything to make this pictur e dirty. So she cal led on little Johnny, and he ran to the chalkboard.
The entire class erupted with laughter.... the Teacher fainted.
Little Johnny had done it again.
Dasavatharam & the reality - A Review
There are many pluses and minuses that can come out of this movie, but in the end the pluses overshadow the minuses.
First of all the theme with which the story revolves is mind-blowing and difficult for a layman to understand. But trust me, Kamal has tried his best to explain what is what!! The theme as far as I understood revolves around Newton's III Law but Kamal claims in his dialogue initially that a Scientists job has got some connections with the Chaos Theory, Butterfly Effect for example. So he continues explaining how a butterfly effect and the story are interrelated. He intervenes by saying that all the world affairs are interconnected and that somewhere some disaster is because of some other's action (negativism view, hence the chaos theory).
The reality of the saying is experienced in real world today - China's earthquake, Tsunami in Tamil nadu etc. These two aspects are hard to digest but thats the reality and I am sure many people would condemn even such a thought. The Universal Hero then goes about the character and shows how difficult it is for good people to survive in this world and how money, politics and power influence people (both good and bad). We are knowingly or unknowingly affecting our Nature's balance by slaughtering Animals, cutting down trees, polluting the space, smuggling sand (one of the main issues highlighted in Dasavatharam) , etc. These actions causes damages to the Eco System and affects people life in a ripple effect.
Secondly, the characters played by Kamal are worth more than adulation! When seeing the movie we tend to forget that it is Kamal, instead a real person who is performing his own lively incidents. The characters which I loved the most are: Rangaraja Nambi, Balaram Naidu, Govindarajan Ramaswamy, George Bush, Christian Fletcher, Vincent Poovaragan and Shingen Narahashi. The other characters are just too boring or having plastic make-ups. But no harm done, still they have performed well like we students do in any mock-up cultural events.
Next, the direction and graphics. The cut sequences where variety of Kamal meet are awesome and we can't find any difference. The direction, action and editing are done perfectly! The 12th century graphic scenes like flames, under water, etc are awesome and are joy to watch! Only a few scenes were disappointing and looked very much fake as in when they show the 12th century island from a bird's eye view and the Fletcher's escape sequence through Copter when Yuki tries to throw the bomb back at them. Special mention must be made for the tsunami effect in the climax!
Lastly, not to forget the ending part which not only brings sense into the story but also the reality and a few important points for all of us to understand. Kamal clearly says that he is not against GOD nor does he say that he denies the existent of GOD but instead says that he prefers GOD to exist at present (something to clear the speculation off the air). Then back to the conference where Kamal started his story telling, says that unless there are no Debate between two or more parties on any subject, there won't be any peace in this world and the war wont end.

Windows XP Support Extended until 2014
Microsoft has finally given in to public demand. The company has decided to offer technical support for Windows XP with updates and security patches for an extended period until April 2014. However, it will not go back on its decision to discontinue Windows XP sales after June 30.
This means that after June 30, Microsoft will stop distributing Windows XP as a stand-alone product, as well as stop licensing it to PC manufacturers like Dell, HP, Lenovo, and others. However, it doesn't mean that XP will disappear overnight. Consumers may still find copies of the software or computers pre-loaded with it for months, as stores and PC makers typically work through their inventories.
Also, as per an announcement made at Computex earlier this month, the software giant said that 'nettops' better defined as PCs with limited hardware or ultra-low cost PCs will be available with Windows XP until January 2009.
Additionally, under another program, Microsoft is allowing customers to downgrade Vista systems to XP through a loophole in the company's licensing terms. So those purchasing a copy of Vista will also be able to run XP at no additional cost.
Microsoft's move to extend the deadline for technical support is primarily influenced by large business customers, who haven't yet upgraded their systems to Windows Vista. The companies have been reluctant to switch to Vista due to the costs and heavy system requirements involved. So, large business customers might just skip Vista and continue with XP until the release of Windows 7, which is scheduled for release in 2010.

Saving images through Firefox
For example the blogger page here, does not allow you to save Publish icon, get icon etc :). Well I just cracked how to save it through FF without ever using any third party tools to capture screen and crop and craps hehe..
Just open the site which will not allow you to save any images in Firefox (I use FF2.0.0.14), then
click on Tools -> Page Info. Under this tool, click on Media tab. Browse through the images listed in there and select which ever you want, see through Media Preview and then click on Save As.. to save that image right to your desktop. Isn't that cool? You can preview as well as Save it :).
Here's a compliment for you:
Now enjoy snipping the pics off the webpage :).

Add-ons for IE7
Add-ons are the important extensions to a browser which makes us do things more than just browsing. Firefox ultimately had thousands of them, but IE7 has a few but strongly useful ones. This article here explains about the 5 great IE7 add-ons. I really loved them, they are very useful for most us and I myself am going to try it despite being a FF lover :).. Nothing is wrong in trying.. Catch you later bye!
P.S: Wait a minute, for all those who think from which browser I posted this blog entry- It's FF2.
Where are we heading to?
Why in the world are we blamed for higher cost of living in the society now? Look who are enjoying the luxury - Business Men like Real Estate Owners, Hotel Owners, Head of Educational Institutions, Politicians (of course) , and many many Business men who gamble essential commodities and fix their own price tags and shape the future to divide the poor and the rich. Where do Software engineers fall under these? No where! All these people who enjoy the privileges are pin-pointing those who struggle day and night and earn hard in the correct way.
I have more to discuss on the controversial yet true topic, but time limits me as I got much more work to perform to get my Salary on time.

NewGeneration Consultants
"Change is unavoidable. Change is good." - Many would have heard this line, and it's true. Our company is growing and we had to shift to a better location in Chennai. We did shift to an awesome location at KRD GEE GEE Crystal Towers, Mylapore, Chennai. Here, the office looks awesome and has very good infrastructure given that we are just a 18+ in terms of number of employees here.
We are working like a family here and people are good here. Any conflicts are not taken seriously at all and we react more maturely. May be I have grown more mature but the fact is that we are small and are living like a family.
We have a very good MD, Mr. Chandrasekar, who can be rightly called a LEADER. He is very energetic, goal-oriented leader and motivates all of us and treats us like his own family. I find myself lucky to be here inspite of the fact that I have come down from a 25,000+ employer.
I am just happy with the way things are going here and wanted you people to know about this place. By the way, we work on Oracle, Microsoft and OpenText technologies.

Microsoft for Firefox 3
I was reading an article written by Brian Briggs on BBSpot, titled "Microsoft Abandons Internet Explorer 8 Development for Firefox 3". He brings in the insight story of Microsoft IE8 development team's hate for IE8 and love for FF3. They are encouraging FF3 and are recommending other Browser developers to follow suit!
It is not surprising to see why they love FF. "It has got a great AwesomeBar", exclaims developers of upcoming IE8. Even these developers are pledging themselves to download the FF3 on the "World Download day". Infact they are also planning to include FF3 as the default browser during the launch of Windows 7 OS. Also they are planning to include FF3 for Vista SP2 installations.
Mozilla have really shown that they are the leaders in this business by winning hearts of not only users, but also the developers all around the world yet again!

Common Man
Your neighbour, some labour, PWD worker, Government employees, other employees?
Why not you and me? We are also common man!
Ok what does common man really mean? According to Wordweb (installed in my PC), it means:
(noun) A person who holds no title.
Well though this definition evokes some protest since we hold some title in our companies/organizations :). What it really means is that we do not occupy any title in our motherland to be renowned what so ever. We are the person who are affected by every one's action. Be it that some one gets born or till some one dies, we are the one who are affected! Remember we are the ocean. I will tell you why I kept this tag for us later. Till the read some facts of life which affects the you and me.
From Hospital where we are born till the crematory ground where we are either burnt or buried, we are bogged by a few viruses named Money, Fear and Greed. These viruses fusion together to form a bigger Virus namely "Politics" or "Adharma". We pay commissions (classically called bribes) everywhere: In school education where to authorities to admit our children for his better future, in colleges for getting a seat in renowned institutions, traffic police, police, doctor, corporation authorities, government authorities, etc etc and list is so huge to imagine and needs our lifetime to list them all!
We pay bribes forcefully else you and me will be sacked to death in this World. We fear that, we want to live, we want to make our children live (basic human need and interest). We want them to grow and live happily in this cruel world not realizing the pains that we suffer are enough. We make our future generations to suffer thinking future will be good. Positive thought alone cannot this world. You are asking why not?? ok here's the explanation given by my Principal of my college, Mr. V. Ramachandran: "There is one full glass of drinking water. If you pour even a single drop of impure water, the water in the glass will get contaminated." This is true, which can be proved only through experience. Before you experience, let me explain what it exactly relates to our life. Once you are into a gang which has similar interests, you will be less influenced but more compelled to do things that you do not wish to. It does not necessarily mean that you are corrupt, but you got forced into doing corruption. That is the world we are living in.
You cannot judge any person so easily in this world. Face value can lie most of the times, all are not saints after all! Not all who do wrong deeds are corrupt, they are forced into doing, otherwise their life and their dependents life is at risk/ doomed. Fear comes into picture here. Next, why do people do wrong things? They are forced-compulsion comes into picture here. Next, what are the side effects of our actions? Our fate/future-our beliefs comes to question here. What if we want to avoid all these? Our survival becomes a question!
People knowingly or unknowingly are affected by these ill factors and there is absolutely no control over it unless we all turn saints and the concept of business disappears. According to 1st law of Thermodynamics: "Energy can neither be created nor be destroyed. It can only be converted from one form to another". Applying this concept to our sufferings: One's loss is somebody's gain. We lose patience, peace of mind, interest, money etc. Politicians and other hooligans gain over it. At last what are we left with? Can we buy a home or car with the current salary that we get? How can politicians who earn less than we do can build bungalows? How can business people have 3 or 4 houses in every country? They never reveal these things out. How? They bribe authorities to not. They are the people for current price rise (inflation), violence etc. We common man are getting stuck in between them unable to breathe free. In fact paying IT is itself a waste, why do we need to bribe our government and make their children enjoy the luxurious life by skimming our Skin and Money? But the constitution laws are like that and we people respect "Dharma".
Politicians frame their own laws and "Dharmas" and make us follow them! We are in the end like Scape Goats, forced to follow blindly what others wish!

Ship's Engine
Then they brought in an old man who had been fixing ships since he was young. He carried a large bag of tools with him, and when he arrived, he immediately went to work. He inspected the engine very carefully, top to bottom.
Two of the ship's owners were there, watching this man, hoping he would know what to do. After looking things over, the old man reached into his bag and pulled out a small hammer. He gently tapped something. Instantly, the engine lurched into life. He carefully put his hammer away. The engine was fixed!
A week later, the owners received a bill from the old man for ten thousand dollars.
"What?!" the owners exclaimed. "He hardly did anything!"
So they wrote the old man a note saying, "Please send us an itemized bill."
The man sent a bill that read:
Tapping with a hammer...... ......... ........ $ 2.00
Knowing where to tap......... . .......... ...... $ 9,998.00
