Blog Followers

Google has released a latest cool innovation yet again, the latest is Google Followers. It's a very useful innovation which helps fellow bloggers get encouraged to post something and see who's following their blogs regularly.

Isn't it really nice to know the people who are following you ;) ? I love the concept personally. It is in fact a basic need that a human requires - Societal contacts and recognition. Bloggers who do not know this feature can add this as a widget in your Blog which helps visitors indicate whether they are following your blog regularly or not. You will feel satisfied in case some one says "Boss I'm your follower". It's a privilege thing, ain't it?

The widget can be added by going to your Layout section of your blog and clicking add a widget. The Widget looks like this:
Why don't you bloggers give it a try? Hope fellow bloggers encourage each other well and bring in a societal change that moves towards Globalization!

Enjoy Following Google!

Value of Money

It's been a while since I posted anything technically or sociologically, all because I was very busy with nuances in my life. I was searching for my ideal home and I was unable to get it anywhere, still I am searching it within my budget and am either not getting it or its not worth that much since it's very far from my current place of work. I was hit by the attitude that Real estate people have to exploit our money.

People who go for work in USA for 2 years or more can save up to 10 Lakhs or even more and come back and invest the same in order to buy a huge bungalow *. But how many of us can really afford to travel that far leaving our family and dear ones alone? Or how many of us do really get such an opportunity? So our hard earned money is getting exploited once we return to India. How? We do not know what to do with such a huge money, people either buy a car worth 10 Lakhs by cash or buy a house by cash. They will never need to go for loans. So, do they really need home? Not really, because they do not know where to invest this money, people seem to have lost faith in Insurance companies and Real estate is the best bet now for multiple returns.

So what is the reason for investing in Land or some kind of property? People are GREEDY. I know its hard to take because we all are greed anyways. There is some limit for everything, once it goes above our neck we fall prey to money! We all speak nicely but do absolutely opposite to it. As long as our GREEDINESS doesn't end, the cost of living won't reduce because since you're ready to spend others are ready to take in lump just like you were greedy to buy. This multifolds and has landed to the current state where even basic food items cost not less than 50 rupees. the basic necessity of human being "Food, Water and Shelter" costs dearly now. Foods in hotel cost more than 50 rupees on an average. Water costs more than 20 rupees per can on an average. Shelter costs more than 20 Lakhs on an average.

It's time that people re-think and do not spend their money greedily. They have to spend on the most valuable things like Agriculture, Family trips etc. Unless the greedy buying stops, the value for money won't be good and even money won't value us one day. This is exactly reflected in Lehman Brothers bankruptcy. All greedy investors lost everything. Let's take this as an example and try to educate ourselves and not fall prey to greediness. Remember just as there is some value for your life and there are some limitations on what you can do, the same applies to money also. Don't let the money talk, if you do you are killing millions of poor below poverty line and also your own life in the long run.

* rule applies 2 to 3 years back

Quote on Light- by me

At this point where there are experiments conducted to reveal the Bing Bang theory, I just thought about LIGHT and it's characteristic. I have a few quotes on them and I thought I would post it. Hope you people like it.

  • Light throws visibility on all things, but can't throw visibility on light
  • Light is transparent enough to reveal all things but not itself

Google Chrome swallows Mozilla Firefox

Google Chrome swallows Mozilla Firefox

Well that too atleast on my system.Google's Chrome had launched silently and is all set to conquer this Browser's space. As soon as I tested out my hands on Chrome at my office system, I came home and uninstalled FF3 and installed Chrome :).

Let me highlight you some great features of this browser (tabbed browser of course):

1. It uses a concept of multithreading. Which means each tab has its own pre-allocated memory space.
For example, I open two tabs namely one for google and another for msn as shown:

Now, if I see the system task manager, I can see two Chrome.exe processes:

2. More browsing space, little/no congestion! Webpages occupy the max space and other tabs, buttons/menu are not applicable. Tabs are typically placed on top for more browsing experince. This is a very important and key feature and makes us love this browser. No hassles is the call of the day!

3. The browser itself has its own tak manager and can display other browser's memory usage (if opened currently).
This task manager is very helpful to kill tabs that issue trouble without having to kill your browser as in IE or FF.

4. Smart box as in FF3 with additional feature for search "keyword" in Google or other search engines based on your default search engine set at the options.

5. One click Bookmarking as in FF3. Remember the Star?

6. Clean, simple interface that is self explanatory and even a small kid can learn the interface fast.

7. Most visited tabs list. This is surely a hit, a copy from Opera I guess :)

8. Finally a key feature: (Why myself have installed this and recommend you people too)

It loads and closes faster than any other app in this world. Very very fast!

I am expecting a few more features like restore, import bookmarks from files etc. I know its still in BETA stage and I am eagerly waiting for its full release!

I saw a presentation on Chrome and explaining the key features, I learned that crashes from the browser is no way possible and thats the technology behind it. And yeah the restore feature that I specified is off now!
How about some widgets/add-ons?
Let see what the full version has to offer ..

Update: I think I am in LOVE with Firefox3. I just uninstalled Google Chrome and got back FF3 in my office computer. Well, at home, due to resource constraints I am still using Lighter Google Chrome. Also, G Chrome crashed in my home PC. Do not know the reason yet, its not opening at all! I uninstalled the same from my home PC too. So please consider these before you install chrome. You can very well do away with IE7 or FF3. They are invincible at the moment!
